On the surface, it’s not the most thrilling of blog topics. We know that. Careful packing and shipping is, however, what gets your equipment to your gym in pristine condition.
Ten-o.com and By GMR products ship all over the United States and around the world. By land, by air, by sea, even!
Whether you need it in Kentucky or Kenya, we take special care to ensure it gets to you as pretty as the picture in the catalogue or on our website.
Yes, we sweat the small stuff, too. For little things like leos, pins, tape, gifts and our world famous Christmas ornaments, we offer a range of shipping options to suit your preference and budget. You can choose FedEx or USPS ground, 1st or 2nd day air.
We employ a system that tracks packages at every step and keeps you apprised of their movements. We scan and you get an email automatically with the tracking number that will let you watch it wing its way to your door.
Need it for lil Susie’s meet this weekend? We got you!
Need it because you run rec programs and train athletes in a busy gymnastics gym fully equipped to host a meet? We ship motor freight, too. And, we pack it to the heavens!
When shipping LTL (less than truckload) and weight and shape permit, all of our equipment and some mats are, what we call in the biz: palletized. That is, we build custom wood pallets on which to ship your items, so we can make every effort possible to ensure they arrive undamaged and picture perfect — just like on our website.
Our pallets are built with 2 x 4’s or 1 x 4’s, with heat-treated wood to comply with international customs shipping laws.
They are then wrapped in cardboard, corrugated paper or plywood for solid protection. Then! We band them with plastic or metal banding or wrap them in plastic stretch wrap to lock everything down, so it Does Not Move while in transit.
All of our steel is wrapped in bubble wrap, corrugated paper or cardboard.
When it comes to carriers, after 40 years in the industry, we know who’s who and who’s careful. We call them.
We work with FedEx freight trucking. We work with independent contractor trucking companies who. When possible, we ship via Partial Truck Load (PTL) which means that we buy space in a truck that’s headed your way such that once that truck is loaded, it doesn’t get unloaded before it gets to your door, (as can happen when carriers need to switch trucks with more complex routing). We are very picky with our carriers and don’t let just anyone handle our or your equipment.
We work with you to ensure there are no surprises! We provide pro numbers — basically tracking numbers for freight items. We give you the name and phone number of the carrier, so you can stay on top of your shipment and it’s delivery. Our carriers make and keep delivery appointments with pro tracking numbers, so that when a big ol’ truck full of heavy mats and flooring comes to you, you and your staff are ready to receive it — not in the middle of a class!
We educate and support you on how to best unload a freight truck. We’ll discuss how many people you will need to have on hand. How to inspect your equipment, so that you and the carrier are in agreement that everything has arrived in the pristine condition in which it was originally shipped. If something isn’t delivered in an acceptable condition, we’ll file the claim for you with the carrier company.
As By GMR’s founder, Mike Raines says, “I’d rather do anything than have a freight claim and have an upset customer”!
We know that’s not something everyone deals with every day; that’s why we’re here to help! We want to ensure that with each and every delivery, large or small, scores a perfect 10.0!
